Type of work: Design of a website selling fasteners

Design for the website of the European Fastening Technologies company (EKT). The company's main line of business is the sale of various fastening materials. The client wanted the design to be based on the old one and to carry the company colours. We added an image of screws between the blocks, bringing a note of the company's field into the design. 

Fasteners look like a small detail, but for the people who buy them they are critical: a construction company, a furniture factory or an assembly workshop needs nuts, screws and bolts of exactly the right size, strength class and coating, in the right quantity and on time. EKT sells such products worldwide, and its buyers are mostly professionals who order in bulk and know precisely what they need. For them a supplier's website is a tool for checking the range and placing a request, and the design has to respect that.

The client did not want to break with the past: the new design had to be based on the old one and keep the company colours that existing customers recognise. This made the project a careful evolution rather than a revolution - the familiar look became cleaner and more modern, while the company's identity stayed intact. The image of screws placed between the content blocks is a small touch that brings the company's field into the design without turning it into a catalog illustration.
