Type of work: design development for an online shop selling minibikes

We were given a very difficult task. We had to create an online shop that would sell minibikes. The name of every section had to be marked with its own matching icon. The task was not an easy one, but in the end we produced a good design and convenient site functionality. 

Minimoto.by is an online shop of minibikes, ATVs, motorcycles and other motorcycle equipment in Minsk, with a large part of the range intended for children and teenagers. Minibikes and children's ATVs are a special category: they are often bought by parents, not by the riders themselves, and these parents care about size, safety and the right age much more than about engine power. At the same time the shop also serves adult riders, so its catalog has to speak to very different buyers.

We were given a difficult task: to create an online shop for minibikes in which the name of every section is marked with its own matching icon. With a wide range of categories - minibikes, ATVs, motorcycles, children's equipment, gear - icons are not decoration but a navigation tool. A child can recognise a minibike or a quad at a glance, and a parent scanning the menu finds the right section faster by image than by reading every word. The difficulty lay in making a coherent set of icons that are recognisable, consistent in style and clear even at small sizes. The task was not easy, but in the end we produced a good design and convenient site functionality.
