NotebooksBatteries - batteries for various laptops

Type of work: Design of an online shop selling laptop batteries

Development and creation of a design for the ShopXML affiliate  selling laptop batteries.

NotebooksBatteries is an online shop that specialises in one product: batteries for laptops from many manufacturers. A laptop battery wears out with time - after a few years it holds a charge for a fraction of its original time - and for many users replacing it is the cheapest way to give an old but otherwise working laptop a second life. The buyer usually knows the brand and model of the laptop and wants to find a compatible battery quickly and be sure it will fit.

We developed and created the design of the shop, which works as an affiliate of the ShopXML network. In an affiliate store the catalog and the product data come from a shared source, so the design is what gives the shop its own face and makes it convenient for a particular audience. A narrow specialisation is an advantage here: the whole shop can be organised around a single question - which battery fits my laptop - with navigation by manufacturer and model at the centre and product cards that make compatibility and the key characteristics of a battery, such as capacity and voltage, easy to check.

The search phrases the shop was built for - laptop battery, laptop batteries, buy a battery for a laptop, buy a laptop accumulator, laptop components - are narrow and purchase-oriented. A focused shop with a design built around compatibility answers them more directly than a general electronics store, and that is its main competitive strength.
