Type of work: design for an online shop selling laptop parts

We developed a simple and convenient online shop. The main task was to create a quick menu for fast product search. 

This online shop sells components for laptops: batteries, chargers, keyboards and other spare parts for many brands and models. Its customers are people whose laptop has a specific problem - the battery no longer holds a charge, the charger has broken, a key has stopped working - and who want to fix it quickly instead of buying a new computer. They usually know their laptop's brand and often its model, and their search is very precise: a battery for a particular Asus or Acer, a charger with the right connector, a keyboard with the right layout.

We developed a simple and convenient online shop, and the main task was to create a quick menu for fast product search. In a store of spare parts the range is enormous and fragmented: the same type of component exists in dozens of versions for different models, and a buyer who has to browse a long list will give up. The quick menu was meant to lead the visitor from the type of component and the laptop brand to the right product in a few clicks, so that the search for a part takes seconds rather than minutes.

The search phrases the shop was built for - laptop charger, laptop components, asus battery, acer battery, laptop spare parts, replace a laptop keyboard - show this precision clearly. They name brands and concrete parts, and the closer the shop's navigation follows such queries, the more likely it is that a visitor arriving from a search engine finds exactly what they need and orders it straight away.
